Stacked miniature bricks create a portrait in homage to the dean of American ornithologists. Conforming to proper birdhouse design, wrens are able to enter the structure through the right ear, while a carved wooden bird whispers into his left ear. A wooden rendering of the Field Guide to the Birds forms a canopy over the head.
